# 2.8. BCB Normative Instruction No. 701/2026

Establishes the form of communication and the minimum requirements of the technical certification accompanying the notice of intent to provide virtual asset services, as provided for in BCB Resolution No. 520/2

The [Normative Instruction](https://www.bcb.gov.br/estabilidadefinanceira/exibenormativo?tipo=Instrução%20Normativa%20BCB\&numero=701), of January 22, 2026 (Official Gazette of 01/23/2026), establishes the manner of communicating an interest in providing intermediation and custody services for virtual assets by institutions already authorized by the Central Bank ([BCB Resolution No. 520/2025](/en/regulation/2.-central-bank/2.5.-bcb-resolution-no.-520-2025.md), arts. 20 and 23, § 3) and the minimum requirements of the <mark style="background-color:purple;">technical certification</mark> prepared by an independent qualified company that accompanies this communication.
