# 16. Economic Freedom Law

The [Law No. 13,874/2019](https://www.planalto.gov.br/ccivil_03/_ato2019-2022/2019/lei/l13874.htm) establishes the Declaration of Economic Freedom Rights.

## Principles:

* freedom as a guarantee for the exercise of economic activities;
* good faith of private individuals before the public authorities;
* subsidiary and exceptional intervention by the State;
* recognition of the vulnerability of private individuals before the State.

The law establishes that low-risk economic activities do not require State intervention for the activity to be authorized.

The acts authorizing economic activity will be subject to the same interpretation criteria adopted in prior analogous administrative decisions.
