# About

Open-Source Law Brasil (CC BY 4.0) is an open research and development project on law, blockchain, and cryptoassets.

The infrastructure of the traditional financial system is changing. Lawyers need to keep up. Developers need to understand the new business mechanisms. And both groups need to be able to have a coherent conversation. This site will help everyone understand the current state of cryptoasset regulation, so they can discuss what may change in the law and what we can achieve today.

This project is inspired by the [The Cod3x](https://www.thecod3x.com/x/) and has an ambitious goal: to decentralize the law and create a legal treatise tailored for web3.

This marks a dramatic departure from traditional legal texts, which are updated infrequently, published on paper, or in hard-to-access academic articles. The project is the result of hundreds of hours of effort to compile, summarize, and make accessible the Brazilian regulatory landscape for lawyers and developers.

With this goal in mind, the project aims to:

* update changes in Brazil's laws, regulations, and guidance in (almost) real time;
* direct its users to the primary sources for their own immediate consultation;
* make cross-references (and provide links) to other relevant parts of the text itself, making navigation easy and intuitive;
* be natively searchable and function as a knowledge base; and
* invite any legal scholar to contribute and be among the site's developers.

It is my sincere hope that this tool is useful to you. If there is any way to make it better, please get in [touch](https://t.me/victordivalente).

If you find it interesting, consider writing new sections to support the project's development. You can learn more about how to contribute [here](/en/contribute.md).
